    Shekinah Allied Healthcare is licensed by the California Department of Public Healthcare 

    (CDPH)  to offer Home Health Aide training program, a quality education needed to secure a

    rewarding job in this growing healthcare field. We teach you on how to become a home health

    aide and concentrate on assisting the elderly, the disabled, and other patients recovering from

    illness and injuries by maintaining their quality of life and making them feel safe in their homes.

Job Market for Home Health Aide


  •    Across the nation, thousands of people require home health aides in a variety of work fields such as home health organizations, rehabilitation centers, and home care placement services.
  • Many seniors prefer the comfort of staying in their homes to a nursing home, and home health aide services allow them, or anyone else with chronic illnesses or impairments, to remain safe and healthy in a comfortable, familiar space.



Home Health Aide Program


  • California 40 Hour Home Health Aide Training Program consists of a minimum forty (40) hours HHA training is designed for individuals with a current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certificate to become a certified Home Health Aide (HHA).
  • The training needs to be twenty (20) hours of classroom and twenty (20) hours of supervised clinical training in home health topics at a clinical site.
  • Students will learn the introduction to home health aide and agency role; interpretation of medical and social needs of people being served; personal care services; nutrition; cleaning and care tasks in the home. Classes include a combination of theory, skills lab, and clinical training.



    Home Health Aide Training Program teaches valuable skills to assist individuals who are

    in need of care in the community.You will learn how to assist with parts of daily living - such as

    getting in and out of bed, bathing and dressing, and preparing meals. Helping individuals feel

    comfortable walking and using the restroom in their own home is a level of comfort home health

    aides are there to provide.


​PROGRAM DURATION

    This is a 1-Week (40 hours)- 20 Theory Hours and 20 Clinical Hours Home Health Aide Training

    Program which prepares CNA's for certification as a Home Health Aide by the State of California.

    Our flexible schedule runs Monday- Friday on 8-8-4 hour of combined theory and clinical hours 

    Theory Hours: 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM

    Clinical Hours: 7:00 AM- 3:00 PM


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Complete physical exam and TB test
  • Must submit Home Health Aide Application
  • Must pass background clearance check
  • Copy of Government Issued Photo ID
  • Copy of Social Security Card
  • Copy of BLS CPR card


TUITION & FEES

 

  • Tuition and fee- $600.00 (non-refundable)-including classroom supplies fee
  • State Exam Fee- $0.00


Dressing Code


  • Students must comply with dressing decorum. You may elect to wear regular comfortable clothing for the classroom theory instructions only.
  • For the clinicals, Navy Blue scrubs/uniform and white canvas closed shoes for your comfort. No high heels or sandals permitted for the clinical hours.
  • No one will be allowed to participate in the clinicals without appropriate required dressings.
  • No designer uniform or other colors permitted. You can purchase this uniform from from uniform store or online.


Our Policies


      All student must attend and complete all theory and clinical hours to graduate from the program


       Attendance and Absenteeism Policy

  • It is mandatory for each student to complete 100% of the required hours of both Theory and Clinical training to graduate as specified by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
  • If a student is tardy three times, this will equal one day of class missed. The student will need to make-up one class day.   
  • Hours will be tracked by the instructor through daily Attendance/Roll Call. All tracked hours will be recorded on each student’s Individual Student Record (CDPH 276C). Any missed hours must be made up per the Makeup Policy. Any hours not made up will prohibit or delay graduation.



     Tardiness Policy

  • The student should be on time for class. In the event of severe weather, a ten- minute grace period will be granted.
  • After 15 minutes, the student will be considered tardy.
  • If a student is tardy three times, this will equal one day of class missed. The student will need to make-up one class day. 

 

      Makeup Policy

  • We understands absences and/or tardiness may occur.
  • Therefore, all make-up hours must be hour for hour with the instructor present for both Theory and Clinical training.
  • All Theory makeup hours must occur prior to the start of Clinical training.
  • Shekinah Allied allows and has scheduled a maximum of two full days or 16 hours of make-up time for Theory and Clinical training.
  • If any hours are missed and cannot be made up, the student will be dropped from the course and directed to consider starting over during the next session.



Academic Policies


              Grading Policy

    All students will be graded on all Theory Modules. The grading for theory modules is the           

    standard scale as follows:


    Percentage Grade:

  • 100%-90%  - A
  • 89%-80%    - B
  • 79%-70%    -C
  • 69% and below -Fail


   A clinical evaluation will be conducted during clinical training based on student performance as 

   follows:

  • S- Satisfactory
  • U – Unsatisfactory


Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

    The student must maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout the program. The student 

    will receive a mid-program and a final evaluation. The evaluation will be completed by the

    instructor. Additionally, if a student is in “Academic Probation” status, the instructor will evaluate

    and remediate with the student (if applicable) after each examination to ensure satisfactory

    progress of the student.

 

Remediation Policy

    If a student does not pass a Theory module, he/she will have the chance to remediate the specific

    module by reviewing the material with the instructor and having a different form of a re-test. The

    student will need to pass the module before continuing to the next module.
