Certified Nurse Assistant/Nurse Aide Course

  • The Nurse Assistant and Geriatric Care Technician Programs are designed to fill the employment gap of caregivers working with the elderly. This course prepares the student to be a beginning health care worker in the long term care facility, acute care setting, and the home care setting. Emphasis is given to safety principles, infection control, methods for providing physical care, and emotional and social support. Our 4 weeks plus 2 optional weeks of  free revision / testing prep session, and optional CPR training for those who elect to obtain their American Heart Association Basic Life Support issued card at the end of the class.
  • Nurse Aide Program is a 16-unit module course that consists of theory and principles supplemented with clinical instruction and bedside patient care application under the guidelines of the federal and state requirements. Students will learn how to perform nursing roles and responsibilities, handle legal and ethical nursing issues, comprehend the healthcare delivery system, communicate effectively, be prepared for emergency situations, and build fundamental nursing skills.  The course consists of onsite lectures and clinical experiences at our affiliated clinical sites.
  • Upon successful completion of the course, the student is eligible to sit for the State of California certification Examination. The application for certification requires fingerprinting and a background check. Applicants who have been convicted of a criminal offense may not be eligible for certification.   • Students must attend all sessions of clinical and classroom theories to be eligible for program completion and to sit for State certification examination. (Total: 160 hours. Upon meeting the clinical hours and academic requirements for the CNA program, students are eligible to sit for the State of California Certifying Examination. Students must have a valid photo identification (i.e. driver’s license, state ID card or passport AND an original social security card), to sit for the examination.

  • Please call us for next start dates for the CNA program. We hold a class every five weeks with each class running for 4 weeks Monday-Friday, with optional two weeks of revision and exam prep. Free application form is available in person at our school location as well via email on demand from the our office. We require a complete application be submitted in person, by mail or scanned and emailed to us. We required $100 non-refundable fees to secure a spot. This is applied towards you total tuition.

    preparation for Certified Nurse Aide candidates. Students completing the Nurse Aide Program

    Established in 2019. We are located at 9612 Foothill Blvd Suite 110/115, Rancho Cucamonga CA

    91730. We accept students from all areas in and around the Inland Empire. We are fully staffed

    with seasoned and experienced clinicals instructors with years of experience in nursing.


Our Program

   

  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program has been approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).   • We are an allied training center in partnership with the American Red Cross Nurse Assistance Training program and our instructors are certified by the Red Cross. We teach the Red Cross standardized syllabus approved by the California Department of Public Health.
  • This Enrollment Agreement is legally binding when signed by the student and accepted by the institution this training site.


Requirement prior to the start of class

  • Valid completed and signed application
  • candidates must be at least 18 years and or must have graduated from high school with a diploma if younger than 18 years.
  • Prior to acceptance into the program, entering students must provide proof of a physical exam and necessary immunizations including a TB test within the last 12 months.
  • All students must submit to fingerprinting as a requirement by the California Department for Public Health


    Optional Requirements

  • Valid unexpired CPR or BLS card is strongly recommended but not required as a condition of participating in the class. However, student who does not have this requirement is recommended to enroll in the American Heart Association BLS/CPR training offered separately by the school. This will be offered at a discount amount for students who enrolled in our CNA program


   Cost of Training


  • Tuition $1600
  • Mandatory Course Textbook -American Red Cross ($72), purchasable from our office or from the American Red Cross Website No student will be allow into the classroom without a textbook. If you have a borrowed copy, it is acceptable, you must come to the class with a valid textbook
  • Dress code. You may attend classroom with regular clothing or clinical scrubs. For clinicals,  Navy Blue uniform/scrub is required. You can purchase from any uniform store, online stores or ask our office staffs. A WHITE Closed toe shoes (tennis shoes, clogs, no heels) is highly recommended for your convenience and ergonomic reason.


      Exams

  • Throughout each class modules there will be series of continuous quizzes/exams
  • Final exams will be administered at the end of the training to prep you for your state board exam
  • The school staffs will guide you through registration process for the State Board examination before the end of your course.
  • Upon meeting the clinical hours and academic requirements for the CNA program, students are eligible to sit for the State of California Certifying Examination. Students must have a valid photo identification (i.e. drivers license, state ID card or passport AND an original social security card to sit for the examination.
  • If you are electing to take the Manual and Written Exam, Casher check or Money order in the amount $120 is required. If you are electing to take the Manual and Oral Written Examination (Oral Audio-English Only) Cashier check or Money order for $135 is required. All payment should be written to Southern Regional Testing Center, Golden West College, for those taking their test around this area. You may inquire about other exam locations.
  • Do it yourself alternative: Students can register for the state exam during the 2nd or 3rd week into the program. Students can open the link below on the American Red Cross website and choose the CNA exam. It is important that students book their exam date after their graduation date. Use the link below to book your state exam through American Red Cross. Please choose your preferred location and then choose the option "sign me up". Our Policies

      All student must attend and complete all theory and clinical hours to graduate from the program


       Attendance and Absenteeism Policy

  • It is mandatory for each student to complete 100% of the required hours of both Theory and Clinical training to graduate as specified by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
  • If a student is tardy three times, this will equal one day of class missed. The student will need to make-up one class day.   
  • Hours will be tracked by the instructor through daily Attendance/Roll Call. All tracked hours will be recorded on each student’s Individual Student Record (CDPH 276C). Any missed hours must be made up per the Makeup Policy. Any hours not made up will prohibit or delay graduation.



     Tardiness Policy

  • The student should be on time for class. In the event of severe weather, a ten- minute grace period will be granted.
  • After 15 minutes, the student will be considered tardy.
  • If a student is tardy three times, this will equal one day of class missed. The student will need to make-up one class day. 

 

      Makeup Policy

  • We understands absences and/or tardiness may occur.
  • Therefore, all make-up hours must be hour for hour with the instructor present for both Theory and Clinical training.
  • All Theory makeup hours must occur prior to the start of Clinical training.
  • Shekinah Allied allows and has scheduled a maximum of two full days or 16 hours of make-up time for Theory and Clinical training. I
  • f any hours are missed and cannot be made up, the student will be dropped from the course and directed to consider starting over during the next session.



Academic Policies


              Grading Policy

    All students will be graded on all Theory Modules. The grading for theory modules is the           

    standard scale as follows:


    Percentage Grade:

  • 100%-90%  - A
  • 89%-80%    - B
  • 79%-70%    -C
  • 69% and below -Fail


   A clinical evaluation will be conducted during clinical training based on student performance as 

   follows:

  • S- Satisfactory
  • U – Unsatisfactory


Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

    The student must maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout the program. The student 

    will receive a mid-program and a final evaluation. The evaluation will be completed by the

    instructor. Additionally, if a student is in “Academic Probation” status, the instructor will evaluate

    and remediate with the student (if applicable) after each examination to ensure satisfactory

    progress of the student.

 

Remediation Policy

    If a student does not pass a Theory module, he/she will have the chance to remediate the specific

    module by reviewing the material with the instructor and having a different form of a re-test. The

    student will need to pass the module before continuing to the next module.
